First, open Microsoft Outlook on your computer or smartphone.
PC users have to move towards "file" then "Add account" on the other hand and for smartphone users, go to the settings menu then select add account.
Lets move to more detailed steps for better understanding:-
Next, choose Manual setup or Additional server types'.
Then click "Next" and choose the option titled "POP or IMAP", then click Next again and you will land on a page where you have to fill in the actual SBCGlobal outlook settings.
Fill out your Name and Email address in the blank fields provided.
Next, you have to choose between POP3 and IMAP, this option you will find from the drop-down menu next to Account type.

Outgoing Mail server, smtp.mail.att.net
Your full email address
The password of your SBCGlobal email account
If you select POP3
Incoming Mail Server: inbound.att.net
Outgoing Mail Server: outbound.att.net
User Name: Your full email address.
Password: The password for your SBCGlobal email account.
Make sure before finishing the set-up process, click on the “more settings” button and the advanced tab.
Check twice that you have checked the box labelled as this server needs an encrypted connection and then from the select SSL, next to "use the following type of encryption".
Then enter the following:-
If you selected ‘IMAP’:
Incoming Server: 993
Outgoing Server: 465
If you selected ‘POP3’:
Incoming Server: 995
Outgoing Server: 465
Lastly, click on the ok button followed by the next and then finish
